Fishing Vessel "Fidelma" Aground

On Friday 10th May, 2002 the Irish registered fishing vessel "Fidelma" grounded on Inishabro Island off the coast of Kerry. She was timber hull with aluminium shelter deck 24M long and was on her way to the west coast of Ireland fishing grounds. Mainport were requested by the owners P+I Club to remove the oil from the vessel and check for any other pollutants that may remain on board. On Sunday 19th May Mainport were awarded the wreck removal contract and are currently awaiting weather.
