Jeanie Johnston

Mainport subsidiary Seahorse Ltd were awarded the contract to oversee the completion of the replica Famine ship "Jeanie Johnston" which was built in Blennerville in Tralee, Co. Kerry between 1998 and 2001. Seahorse technical department oversaw the complete wiring installation and the testing and commissioning of all her machinery. On completion of testing we then took the vessel through her sea trials following which she was drydocked in Cork, the final inclination test carried out and then handed over to her owners the Jeanie Johnston Co.
