Refloating of the "El Sinor"

On Monday 17th September, 2001 Mainport were called in to assess the situation and refloat the Spanish fishing vessel "El Sinor" aground at the entrance to Castletownbere harbour in west Cork.

Mainport assembled its salvage team, together with equipment and the tug "Celtic Isle" and by Wednesday 19th September the vessel was refloated and berthed alongside Castletownbere. She was subsequently towed back to Spain for repairs and refurbishment.
