Mainport subsidiary Seahorse Ltd were awarded the contract to oversee the completion of the replica Famine ship "Jeanie Johnston" which was built in Blennerville in Tralee, Co. Kerry between 1998 and 2001. Seahorse technical department oversaw the complete wiring installation and the testing and commissioning of all her machinery.

Mainport Ireland made our first investment in South Africa in December 1997. Obvious from the dress code that the weather is warmer than in Ireland!

Mainport invests in Grasslands Ltd.

It was announced on Thursday 23 May 2002 that Mainport were part of a consortium to purchase Grasslands Fertilizer Ltd. from the quoted company Greencore Plc. Grasslands had a turnover of €60 m in the year of 28 September 2001, with a reported profit of €2.273 m. Grasslands has it's headquarters in Dublin with sites in Slane, Limerick and Cork.

Central Fisheries Board awards contract to Seahorse

Seahorse Ltd has a contract with the Central Fisheries Board of Ireland to crew up and manage their two fishery protection vessels "Bradan Beatha" and "Cosantoir Bradan".

Both these vessels operate from May to October patrolling the inshore salmon fishing grounds from Donegal to Waterford on behalf of the Local Regional Fisheries Board.
