Fishing Vessel "Fidelma" Aground

On Friday 10th May, 2002 the Irish registered fishing vessel "Fidelma" grounded on Inishabro Island off the coast of Kerry. She was timber hull with aluminium shelter deck 24M long and was on her way to the west coast of Ireland fishing grounds. Mainport were requested by the owners P+I Club to remove the oil from the vessel and check for any other pollutants that may remain on board.

Fishing Vessel "Celestial Dawn" Aground

In the early hours of Sunday 3rd February 2002 the Irish registered, Spanish operated fishing vessel "Celestial Dawn" ran aground at the entrance to Dingle Harbour, Co. Kerry. The vessel was severely damaged and was lying in a dangerous position on a shelf underneath the lighthouse at the entrance to Dingle Harbour.

Refloating of the "Princess Yanya"

At 22.00 hrs on 1st December, 2001 Irish Mainport were contacted by the Shannon and Foynes Harbour Master who reported that the 80,000 ton bulk carrier "Princess Vanya" had grounded at the entrance to the river Shannon.
